Accessibility

Last updated: 22 August 2026

Tutorify is used by students who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, captions, and magnification. Accessibility is a requirement of the product, not a feature of it — and for our public-institution customers it is a legal obligation that flows through to us.

Our target

We are working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across the Tutorify application and this website. That is the standard named in the Department of Justice’s ADA Title II rule for public entities, and the standard your institution will be measured against.

Where we are

We are candid about the current position: a full independent audit of the application against WCAG 2.1 AA has not yet been completed, and an accessibility conformance report is in preparation. We would rather tell you that than publish a conformance claim we cannot yet evidence.

If your procurement requires a VPAT or Accessibility Conformance Report on a particular date, tell us at support@tutorify.ai and we will give you a firm answer about timing rather than a hopeful one.

What is built in today

  • Semantic HTML structure with landmarks and heading hierarchy, so screen readers can navigate by structure
  • Keyboard access to interactive controls, with a visible focus indicator
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images, and decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology
  • Respect for the operating system’s reduced-motion preference — animation is suppressed when a user asks for it
  • Colour and contrast chosen to meet AA contrast ratios for body text

Known gaps

The product demonstration video on our home page does not yet have captions or a transcript. That is a WCAG 1.2.2 failure, we know about it, and it is being fixed. Listing it here rather than waiting until it is resolved is the standard we intend to hold ourselves to on this page.

Telling us about a barrier

If you encounter something you cannot use, please write to support@tutorify.ai. Tell us what you were trying to do, the page or feature, and the assistive technology and browser you were using if you know them. We aim to acknowledge within two business days and to tell you what we intend to do and when.

If you are reporting on behalf of a student, we will work with your institution’s disability services office to arrange an alternative while a fix is in progress.
